With the widespread and rapid adoption of the Software As A Service (SaaS) model for developing and deploying business applications, Informatica saw a need for Data Integration services to enable organizations to better manage and integrate their SaaS application data with their existing back office systems and databases.

In 2005 Informatica set up a team to take the core technology of its award winning Data Integration Platform, PowerCenter, and move it to a secure, multi-tenant, hosted service environment. This became the foundation for the family of On Demand Data Integration services offered here.

In 2007 Informatica set up a separate business unit to focus on the development, marketing and sales of a set of services, known as Informatica On Demand.

Informatica On Demand solutions help companies of all sizes ensure that their Salesforce CRM environment is synchronized with corporate IT business systems and maintained with the highest possible data quality. The Informatica On Demand family of data integration solutions enables companies of all sizes to integrate Salesforce data with the rest of their enterprise to ensure data accuracy, drive business decisions and operations, and derive maximum value from their Salesforce CRM investment.
